Pinedale is located at 11 Alford Street right in the heart of Methven Mt Hutt village close to several legendary pubs, i-site, Methven Heritage Centre, petrol station, supermarkets, cinema, a book shop, ski and snowboard shops and a gym. Plus we’re close to plenty of places to eat, from fine dining restaurants to takeaway joints and cafes.
It is easiest if you drive and follow the directions below. There are plenty of hire car companies based at Christchurch Airport. Otherwise, you could book transport to and from Christchurch as well as daily return trips to Mt Hutt through http://www.snowmanshuttles.co.nz/index.htm or www.methventravel.co.nz
Pinedale are a 10 minute drive to the base of Mt Hutt Ski Area, 1 hour to Christchurch International Airport, 1.5 hours to Porters Ski Area, 3.5 hours to Dunedin, 4.5 hours to Wanaka, 5 hours to Queenstown.
Driving from Christchurch
Follow the Main Highway (SH1) south from Christchurch towards Ashburton. At Rakaia, turn right at the Mobil petrol station, then follow the signs for Methven. When you arrive in Methven, turn left at the Mobil petrol station, then turn right at the main intersection (when the Brown Pub is on your right) along Forest Drive and take the second right into Alford Street and you’ll find Pinedale at no 11. OR Follow the West Coast Road (SH73) from Christchurch to Darfield and turn left along Inland Scenic Route 72. Then follow the signs for Methven. Once in the 50km zone take the third right onto Allen Street, then second left into Alford Street and you’ll find Pinedale at no 11.
Driving from Lake Tekapo, Queenstown or Wanaka
Follow SH8 to Fairlie, turning left to Geraldine to follow the Inland Scenic Route (SH 72) until turning right towards Methven along Pudding Hill Road. When you first arrive in Methven, you will be driving along Forest Drive, Alford Street is the third on the left and you’ll find Pinedale at no 11.
